I have an epilator at home for emergencies ie when I don't have time to go at the salon... Otherwise waxing is the way to go... Also the epilator has to be slowly moved.. you moved it like a razor... It needs some time to tweeze the hair so move it slowly and it won't pain!! Also it is a long term investment... Also you build up tolerance ... !

Everyone says that sugaring is less painful and has less ingrown hair after than regular waxing but o boy I couldn’t even make it through the one session and I had been waxing for two years. And it didn’t make any difference when hair grew back. I don’t think it’s worth it.

You need to pull the skin taught when epilating. Just like when you wax. Also, your pain tolerance grows when you epilate. Remember when you first plucked your eyebrows? Sooooo painful, but not so much anymore right? And it can last as long, if not longer than waxing. If you do it right

I think this is a cool video idea but I wish you hadn't called body hair gross because it isn't gross, it's natural. Women shouldn't feel bad about having body hair.

I’m also a hairy person who has tried so many different things to remove hair, I’ve tried all of these except sugaring. I can attest to the epilator. I am bias since I have a very high pain tolerance but I love my epilator now. The first time I tried it in middle school I hated it and never used it again as a broke adult I got a new one and I use that and sometimes shave when I don’t have time. Tips I would give for an epilator. Use it when your legs are dry. Do it in the tub so all the hair falls in the tub and not on your floor. Go very slow. Do NOT pull it the way you would a razor or it will do what you said and cut the hair and not pull it at the root and will hurt more. After a minute your leg goes numb and it doesn’t really hurt that bad. I really recommend you try it again and it gets better I promise.

I’m surprised how American people are used to shave their legs, I’m French and I’ve been using an epilator since I’m 12... and yeah it hurt like hell but you get used to it and it’s really practical

You should give the epilator another chance! I got a fancyish one like 8 years ago for 80€, it also has a trimming head, I use it every 2 weeks on average and it has NEVER let me down. I get both half-legs done in 20min and the sides of my bikini area have built up a pretty good pain tolerance. Another advantage is that the hair follicles get thinner and more fragile, so if I see I've forgotten something I can usually pull the hairs out with my fingers :D

I got used to using an epilator, you just kind of build up a tolerance. Also the one I use is a wet/dry so you can use it with soap and water. It takes longer than shaving but I'd rather go a month without shaving than have to shave every shower.

I sugar at home, I find it super easy - and it doesn't irritate my skin like waxing. It also doesn't have to be hot so I have never burnt myself. And because it's sugar and lemon it's super easy to clean :)

This was a great way to test the common non-permanent ways to do hair removal. I would love if you did a laser vs electrolysis video for "permanent" hair removal. Maybe not you getting them but just giving people the information of the two different options.

As always great video Michelle! Love you and Olivia together, reminds me of me and my bestie lol. One thing I’d add to the topic of hair removal is how physically challenging is each method. Just because if you have any eyesight or other physical challenges it makes a difference in what method may be best to chose. Keep up the great work!!! 👍👍💕

Laser is not permament, I have had IPL and tho its not permanent, it decreased a lot the amount of hair, the coarsness and the width of the hairs, now they grow slower and are waay less. I am very hairy so an epilator was not an option for me, the pain is unbearable and I never used mine, is still brand new lol, my everyday go to is also a razor, no pain, no fuzz, quick.

i am actually surprised here sugar waxing is sooooo cheap like here in lebanon we get 4 tiny boxes of sugar waxing and will cost about $2 with these 4 boxes u can wax ur entire body plus waxing ruined my skin and hair however sugar waxing lasted for 2-3 weeks with smooth skin it's actually the cheapest and most beneficial. (actually there might be tiny hair, i remove them with the epilator in which u only feel a little pinch)

This prices are insane. Normal prices where I live are around €20 for both legs and the bikini zone, and that's still pricey to be honest. But $100 for just the legs? Hell no, I'll keep on waxing at home.

Why are you saying your hair growth on your legs (after two weeks) is pretty gross? In my opinion it is simply natural. Maybe it is your opinion that it isn't pretty which is absolutely fine. Everyone has a different definition of beauty and that it is totally okay. But having a community this big and calling natural body hair gross is definitely questionable. I mean I have rarely heard of anyone calling out men's leg hair .. so why are people making girls and women feel bad about it? :-( #constructivecriticism #pleasedontgetmewrong

Very informative video! I prefer shaving for every area, except my bikini area. I used to get Brazilian waxes every 5 weeks, but recently, I’ve been trying out sugaring at home. I do really small sections at a time, I’m careful and take my time, and it’s been working really well. Doing it that way, it’s not very painful, and it’s so satisfying! I bought the jar of sugar for $50, which is enough for several sessions, but soon I’m going to start experimenting and making it myself to save even more money.

Ok ok so there are a lot of people saying they use and love the epilator... and I do agree, to some extent. I started using an epilator since I was thirteen, and at first it hurt but I got used to it and it was great. Fast forward about a year when I guess my hair started to become thinner. I started getting heaps of ingrown hairs, which were deep under the skin so they left bad scars on my legs when I tried to get them out. I stopped and turned back to the razor, but it didn’t improve. So I went back to the epilator. That time I went back to the epilator something very strange happened. My legs felt insanely itchy, and started to go blotchy. I went to sleep that night with my legs in immense pain, and when I woke up they were covered in pustules. Went to the doctor, and found out I had folliculitis. The next few weeks were horrible for me with these pustules we had to pop and scars to no end. Now my legs have recovered, but alas I still get deep ingrown hairs, and I wonder how my life would be different if I never started epilating. So take this as a warning, or whatever, if you haven’t started epilating yet. Also anyone who has experienced something similar or knows anything on the topic please comment, it will really help me and others. :)

I don’t think you should judge the epilator because you used it in like the most sensitive part of your leg and it was the first time. Also you went very fast over the hair, your supposed to go slower so it can actually grab the hair.

The thing about epilating is that it hurts SO much but the more often you force yourself to do it the less your hair will grow back. I've been doing it for half a year now and it still hurts but not as much as it used to. Also my hair is growing back slower and fewer (it grows really really fast and thick usually). My mom has been doing it for 6 years now and her hairs barely grow anymore and she has to epilate like every 3 to 4 month and she barely feels anything by now it's great!

Love this! Here’s a question “Who decided or made it popular societally normal for women to remove body hair?” Men are hairer than women in general (there are exceptions obviously depends on genetics). Also their hair is usually thicker & more visually obvious. Yet we except them & don’t expect them to remove it. Just to maybe trim underarms or pubes if it gets super wild. Why are women feeling like we have to do this from the time we hit puberty? We are taught usually by our mothers or sisters or friends that this is what we are supposed to do once puberty starts .
